How do I log in to place a hold or renew my materials?
Go to our catalog or click on SEARCH OUR CATALOG at the top of the web page. Log in from the catalog by clicking on LOG IN at the top of the page. Your username is your library card number, and your password is your last name. If your login is successful, your name will appear at the top of the page. Click on your name to view your activity, change your settings, or renew your materials. You'll now be able to place books on hold, as well. See staff for assistance if you need it.
How do I download books?
You can download popular eBooks and eAudiobooks for free to any device from the Maine Infonet Download Library, powered by Cloud Library and offered in partnership with other Maine libraries. Log in by choosing "Cumberland, Prince Memorial Library" and entering your library card number. Check out up to three items at a time, and then download or transfer them to your own device. Need a walk-through? Ask our reference librarian for a quick tutorial.
What are the library's borrowing policies?
Loan Periods: Books, periodicals and audio materials circulate for two weeks and may be renewed twice. DVDs circulate for one week and may be renewed once. There is a limit of five DVDs per adult/young adult card holder. A “hold” on any item by another patron would prohibit renewal of an item. You may renew your loaned items online, by phone or in person at the circulation desk.
Overdue Notifications: Email notifications are automatically sent to patrons who have supplied their contact information. Patrons receive a letter from the library if materials are more than three months overdue.
Fines: Adult and young adult late items accrue 10 cents per day in fines. Juvenile late items accrue five cents per day in fines.
Responsibility: The borrower shall be responsible for damage or loss at full replacement value for all borrowed materials. Prince Memorial Library will not assume responsibility for damage to a borrower’s equipment or device by a library DVD. The borrower shall update their record at the Circulation Desk or online when their contact information changes.
