The Social Topics in Literature Book Group meets the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m., October – June. We meet virtually, via Zoom. The group reads a wide selection of fiction and nonfiction that focuses on topics of social concern. Think poverty, equity, race, gender, status, etc. We send out emails with updates on the reading list, information about upcoming meetings, and the Zoom link.

Cook the Book: Cook and share a recipe from a cookbook. Second Mondays, 5:30 p.m. at Wescustago Hall & Community Center in No. Yarmouth. 

Cook the Book meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. as Wescustogo Hall & Community Center in North Yarmouth. Grab a cookbook. Find a recipe that fits the monthly theme. Make it. Bring the dish and the cookbook to the meeting. We'll enjoy the food together and talk about the cookbooks, the dishes, and what worked or didn't work. Newcomers welcome. We use the email list to update the group about upcoming themes and meetings.

Games at the Library

Mah Jongg (American-Style): Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Mah jongg is a fascinating rummy-like game played with tiles rather than cards. Players should have a basic knowledge of the game.

Mah Jongg (Asian-Style): Wednesdays at 4 p.m. For people who already know how to play. 

Classic Tabletop Games: Thursdays at 1 p.m. This informal group gets together to play classic games, like Mexican train (dominoes), Rummikub, and Parcheesi, and more. New members welcome.

Contract Bridge: Fridays at 1 p.m. For people who already know how to play. 

Chess:

Saturdays at 3 p.m. Bring a chess set if you have one.

Social Opportunities

Crafter Work: Bring your own project. Work on it among friends. Every Tuesday, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at PML.

Sit & Knit: For textile crafters. Every Wednesday, 1 p.m.
