FAQs

How does this work?

1. Fill out the application or please don't hesitate to call the library to sign up.

2. You can choose from 2 options:

Option 1: You can call us when you would like to order books or PML materials. (We'll call you to let you know when your books will be delivered).

Option 2: We'll choose the materials for you, based on preferences you outline on your application form. If you choose this service, we'll deliver (and pick up) books on the first Friday of the month between 9 a.m. and noon.

3. We'll call you within a few days of receiving your application to discuss your reading and delivery preferences. We'll determine when staff is available to begin delivering materials to you.

Who will deliver the library materials?

Library or Aging-in-Place staff will deliver and pick up the materials.

What type of materials can I borrow?

All circulating library materials, including books, magazine, audiobooks, DVDs, and puzzles can be delivered for a 2-week loan period.

How do I arrange for pickup?

We will pick up your materials on the first Friday of the month, between 9 a.m. and noon, unless otherwise noted when we deliver your books. We will call you Thursday afternoon/early evening to remind you. The library does not charge for overdue books.

How long can I borrow the items you bring me?

The lending period for PML items through the Home Delivery Service program is flexible, generally 4 weeks. You can renew your materials one time. Materials not available at the time of request will be placed on reserve and delivered when they become available. We will call before we make a delivery. Please note that there may be waiting lists for new and/or popular items. An item cannot be renewed if the library has a waiting list for it.

What materials are available?

The library has a large collection of large print and regular print books, as well as many audio books, back issue magazines, movies and puzzles that we can deliver.

Is there a limit to how much I can borrow?

The Library does not limit the number of items that may be borrowed per delivery through this program.

How do I refer someone I know?

If you know someone who could potentially benefit from the PML Home Delivery Service, refer them today! Fill out the form on this page, visit the library, or call us at 207-829-2215.
